Biography
Michelle She is an Australian guitarist, composer, and improviser whose work bridges sound, imagination, and storytelling. Drawing from a background in jazz and electro-acoustic music, classical music, she explores the poetic tension between real world and imagination.
Michelle holds two B.Mus. degrees, majoring in classical guitar, and an M.Mus. (Hons) in musicology, researching traditional Nanguan chamber music. In 2001 she won first place in the Taiwan National Guitar Competition. She has toured Taiwan and China and performed in Australia. Building up a passion for improvising, She shifted her focus to jazz and improvised music and the electric guitar. She graduated from improvised music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and performed professionally in Sydney.
